Use one column of real text

A two-column resume looks neat on a screen. Hiring software often reads it left to right, one line at a time. Your job title can land in the middle of your school.

Use one column. Put the words in the page, not in a text box or a picture. If you can copy the text with your mouse, the software can probably read it too.

Keep each job in this order: company, title, dates, then the bullets. That is the whole tip.
